Polaris

This documentary follows the story of a woman named Haret Mohamad Nishik.

Her mother was a drug addict when she was young and she didn’t know who her father was. Now, her only family is her sister Leila and her daughter Inayare.

Haret works as a boat captain in the Icelandic ice cap. In this documentary, she talks about the harassment and discrimination she faces as a woman in a predominantly male workplace, and how the trauma of her childhood has forced her to find love at the age of 35.
