Manuela Pipa Pelari, a former police officer, returns to her former small town with her young son, holding on to the pain of her past.

Her aunt urged her to move to the small town, where she lives a peaceful life as a single mother with her young son, working as a farm laborer.

One day, a young Indian girl dies in a fire in their town. The police believe it was an accident, but her aunt is suspicious. So she enlists the help of her niece Pipa to investigate the case.
